Harry and Brandon were best buds and small-time hoods who got noticed by Millennion, the crime syndicate that ruled the unnamed city where this film takes place.

Now called Beyond the Grave, the reanimated gangster is going to take down his former friend, Harry MacDowel. The premise of Gungrave is that a scientist has brought a dead gangster, Brandon Heat, back from the dead after Heat was murdered by his boss and best friend. Rage on, Sopranos fanbois, I'm not diminishing the show, just you have your favorite and I have mine. Gungrave, an anime based on a console shooter game with no real plot, is proving to be the most entertaining gangster story I've seen in ages.
